Maria's Challenge - A week on slimming world - Day Four

Day Four

Very busy at work today and super tired, combination of busy mind and lack of sleep. On a day like this it's easy to slip into bad ways and grab some rubbish on the go.

Breakfast

When I arrived at work I had a banana as I was hungry and a black coffee. Luckily, when there's been no time to prep any food, or if the cupboards are bare then I am very lucky that work has an on-site restaurant which starts serving breakfast at 7:45 and serves through to the afternoon, hot and cold options, both healthy and otherwise. Today as I was unprepared I popped in for a 5 item breakfast of fried egg (1 syn), 2 grilled bacon (free, with all visible fat removed), beans (free) and tomatoes (speed). I would prefer to have mushrooms over beans for the extra speed food, but a couple of times recently I've ended up with a plate full of soil where they've not been washed properly and this mornings didn't look promising so I gave them a miss. Washed this down with another black coffee and later had a diet coke and some water. Am trying to up my water intake as when I did body coach my plan came back advising me to drink 4 litres of water a day. I never managed that but I do now drink a lot more water.

Lunch

Before leaving for work this morning I did manage to put together a quick fruit salad of melon, strawberries, blackberries and raspberries (all speed). Packed a pot of quark to top it off and packed a bag with plums, peach, nectarine, clementine, apple and the banana I ate at breakfast.
I had the fruit salad for lunch, preceded by a bag of french fries (4.5 syns). I also ate the apple. The clementine was brown in the middle so I had to leave that, and the soft fruits are on my desk waiting for tomorrow.
My afternoon turned out to be very busy and it ended with a meeting that went on past my leaving time. Everyone wants everything this week as they know I'm  away next week, but I have a lot I need to do for myself. It's a wrangle sometimes to get the balance right and ensure you meet all your requirements whilst trying to make sure you keep everyone else happy.
Still I will always prefer to be rushed off my feet busy than sitting twiddling my thumbs.
After work I had double the normal journey as I needed to pick up my daughter from her holiday club. Was happy to see her, hate not being able to have the whole holidays off. Was pleased she'd had a good day roller skating and swimming but noted she was also looking a bit tired, always happens when our routine goes to pot in the holidays!

Dinner

Dinner was mixed veg stir fry of broccoli, asparagus, courgette, mushroom, cauliflower and carrots (all speed foods and making up 50% of my plate), of and some butternut squash chips which I cooked in the Actifry and finished in the stir fry.
Served the vegetables with a 1 syn corned beef pasty. You can find the recipe here on a great site which supports slimming word followers in an unofficial capacity. One of it's best features when you follow their Facebook page is a weekly shopping list with new ideas to try.
I followed the recipe but also added some chopped carrot and spinach to the mix to add in some extra speed. Had a large glass of water to accompany this. I made double the quantity so we have pasties for lunch tomorrow and I had a bit of mix left over which made 3 corned beef balls which I will take for breakfast.

This evening had a coffee with a fibre one bar (4 syns).

In summary...

Health A - didn't have it again (naughty as its a great source of calcium)
Healthy B - was the Weight Watchers wrap I used to make the pasty
Syns - 10.5 - so I can stop worrying about Saturdays takeaway now!

15 types of fruit and vegetables again today
